Documentary film 'LAND'

Documentary film 'LAND' has been selected for the "ArtSpeaksOut" Film Festival 2025 and be streamed globally during COP30 this November.
This short film challenges our conventional understanding of 'Land' through the perspectives of African and Asian artists. 'Land' has been perceived as an everlasting and beneficial resource for civilization. Humans have developed and controlled 'Land' for centuries. However, at a time when 'Land' faces fragility due to human activities, Ghanaian photographer Nii reflects on the fundamental meaning of 'Land' for our lives through his experience of African land being appropriated by the West. Similarly, Japanese calligrapher Nakajima contemplates the sustainability of 'Land' from the experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant Accident. By deconstructing established ideologies through artworks, both artists arrive at a profound realization: We humans originated from the land and will return to the land.
